Buccaneer Billfisher 565
The Billfisher 565 is the “fishy” evolution of the 565 platform — built to feel easy, safe, and practical on a proper day out, not just a boat-ramp lap. The cockpit and walk-around layout give you a roomy, stable work zone, and the rod-holder set-up is genuinely generous: holders in the covering boards, a six-rod rocket launcher overhead, mid-height side options, and extra storage forward in the bow well for a clean, fishable set-up. What really stands out is the main cabin/helm area: it’s ergonomically laid out with plenty of handholds, and it can be enclosed with zip/dome clears to create real shelter from rain and spray without encroaching on the rear casting space. Up front, the full-length bunks are a pleasant surprise for a boat this size — and paired with 165L underfloor fuel, it’s well suited to longer missions and the occasional overnight. On the water, the review’s verdict was blunt: it “rides as good as she looks”, staying dry even with beam-on slop, and running comfortably in the low-20-knot range during the test. Positioned as an easy-to-manage, high-quality rig that’s ready to fish now, with room to add bolt-ons (windlass, baitboard, electronics upgrades) as you like.
